THE go-ahead was due to be given last night for an extension of the pathology department at the Alexandra Hospital.
The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has applied to Redditch Council for a single storey building at the back of the hospital containing a seminar room and offices.
The alterations are part of a Health Authority standards accreditation scheme. The room is needed for cancer unit status.
