Anthony Jackson put Fairfield in front after 15 minutes and on the half hour mark it was 2-0 with Wayne Davies firing into the far corner.

Ian Brown sent Ally Thomas through for the first of his hat-trick three minutes before the break for 3-0 and Villa were four clear five minutes into the second half through Thomas's second.

Then, in a 25-minute spell, Fairfield saw all their hard work undone as the Midlands Combination Premier Division side fought back.

On the hour, Reuban Wilson pulled a goal back for the visitors and three minutes later Alveston scored a second through Simms.

In the 75th minute a goal mouth scramble led to Fagan reducing Alveston's arrears to a single goal and five minutes from time the visitors equalised when Simms scored from 20 yards.

With the game seemingly heading for a draw, Villa were awarded a disputed penalty in the final minute and Thomas completed his hat-trick from the spot.
