AN additional 100 car parking spaces look set to be created for visitors and patients visiting the Alexandra Hospital following a number of complaints, writes Becky Procter.

Both patients and the hospital union have complained the car park was full up all day and some have said they had missed appointments because of the problem.

But last night, Redditch councillors were set to agree to plans to create an additional staff car park containing 107 spaces, which would effectively create 100 more spaces for the public.

The proposed car park will be situated to the north west of the Woodrow Drive hospital on a grassed area next to the current staff car park.

The spokesman admitted there had been problems with parking and advice had been issued to people visiting the hospital.
