A REDDITCH nurse, who lied on a job application to a nursing home, has been found guilty of misconduct and cautioned by the regulatory body, following a hearing in London.
The Professional Conduct Committee of the United Kingdom Central Council for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting (UKCC) found John Patrick Sutton, 61, of Winyates Green, guilty of one charge of misconduct.
The offence took place during August 1999 when Mr Sutton was applying for a job as a registered general nurse at the Saltways Nursing and Residential home in Redditch.
He claimed on the application form he had left a previous job with South Warwickshire Combined Care NHS Trust of his own choice when he had actually been dismissed for professional incompetence and falsifying records.
The committee issued a formal caution against Mr Sutton's name on the register. This remains on his record for five years and is automatically disclosed to employers and members of the public who want to check his registered status.
