KINGS Norton's do-or-die clash with Woodrush assumed even more importance after a last-gasp 25-19 loss to Berkswell and Balsall at the weekend.

While the Hopwood club were going down in the final minutes, Woodrush were on their way to a 15-8 win over Coventry Welsh, only their second win of the season.

Kings skipper Mark Waudby says he is not worried by the threat of relegation but knows his side could be dragged into the drop zone if they lose at home to the bottom club in a fortnight.

The captain could have more selection options for the Midlands West Four South dogfight with prop Phil Cooksey (hernia op) and second row Chris Handy (ankle injury) making playing returns for the thirds after year long absences and prop Guy Walton playing in the same side after mising half the season with a catalogue of injuries.

But Waudby said he would not be panicked into rushing the trio back.

Centre Pete May made a comeback for the first team at the weekend but hooker Rick Adams had to retire with broken ribs in the first half unsettling the hosts.

Adams is expected to be ruled out for at least a month.

Kings entertain North Midlands One whipping boys Warley in a friendly on Saturday (ko 2.15pm).
