AN application to extend the Public Entertainment Licence at a popular town centre pub until 1am three nights a week has prompted objections from residents.
The application would see The Litten Tree, in Market Place, licensed from 10am to 1am the following day from Thursday to Saturday. Last admission time would also be increased from 11pm to 11.30pm.
The current hours are 10am-11pm Monday to Wednesday, 10am-midnight Thursday to Saturday and 10am-12.30am on Sundays and 2am on Sundays preceding Bank Holidays.
Seven letters were sent to the nearest homes and two letters were received back which highlighted drunkenness and vandalism as the main concerns to residents.
Litten Tree general manager Steve Smith said one of the points of the extension was to 'spread the weekend's entertainment out more for the people of Redditch'.
The application is due to be discussed by Redditch Council's licensing sub-committee today.
