Meetings of the Poppy Day committee and the general committee of the Redditch branch of the British Legion were held at the headquarters of the British Legion Club on Monday night, Mr A Durrant (chairman) presiding.
It was reported that the receipts for Poppy Day were over £400, which was an increase on last year's total.
Thanks were expressed to the organiser, Mrs J Scothern JP, Colonel AE Scothern and the collectors, the subscribers and all who had assisted in making the effort successful.
Reporting on the progress of the branch, Mr FC Lloyd (honorary secretary) said that since the annual meeting a few weeks ago there had been an increase of 31 in the membership.
