WORCESTER Wolves bounced back from last week's defeat with a 75-65 home win over North London Lords in the National Basketball League Division One.

Colin Chiverton opened the scoring for Worcester with two power moves from close range; Nick Vinsonneau, Ben Livingston and Rick Solvason soon added to the score as the Wolves raced into an early lead.

At the end of the first quarter Worcester led 22-12 and the second quarter saw the Wolves play probably their best spell of the season.

Solvason scored four consecutive three-point efforts and Livingston was in inspired form at point guard. North London scored only three baskets as Wolves raced into a 44-23 half time lead.

However, in the third quarter The Lords scored three dunks in succession to reduce the deficit to 10 points, and with two minutes left Wolves led 66-61.

But good defensive play by Rhys Hocking and Vinsonneau, coupled with a vital three-pointer from Livingston ecured a much-needed win.

Wolves' head coach Solvason said afterwards: "It was an important win and I'm pleased how the team bounced back from last week, but there's still work to be done."
