Lord Foley, of Witley Court, who is celebrating his coming of age, humanely intends to commemorate the event by distributing a sum of money among the poor of the different parishes in the neighbourhood of Witley instead of giving public entertainments.

Mr Hyler's Concert and Ball at the Hop Pole Inn, Foregate Street last night was attended by many of the very genteel families of this city and neighbourhood, nearly 200 persons being present. The concert gave general satisfaction and the dancing was kept up until a late hour.

Edwin Gammond, aged 13, a waggoner's boy of Newtown Road, Worcester met an unfortunate death when out with a waggoner and his horses and waggon. While returning along Wyld's Lane with a two-ton load, the boy, running to catch hold of the foremost horse, fell, and the wheel of the waggon passed over him. He was taken to the Infirmary where he died.
