IN reply to George Cowley's letter (You Say, December 8), and his reply to mine of November 26, I don't know how he got the idea I was referring to youngsters.

My main concern is the teenage thugs who knock old ladies down and steal their pensions.

I asked him for an intelligent punishment. This has not been forthcoming - perhaps he thinks they should be sent to some tropical holiday resort to be re-educated.
