THE British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) is looking for more volunteers, throughout the country, to join in their Garden BirdWatch survey.

If you are interested in the birds which visit your garden and would like to help compile information that could assist in conserving their numbers and habitats, then visit Kidderminster Library and pick up a leaflet.

You need to spend some time each week (as little or as much as you are able) noting which birds visit your garden and be able to identify the common species.

Special count forms are provided, which need to be filled in weekly and sent off four times a year - one each season.

An annual contribution of £12 is requested to help with running costs.

Volunteers receive a copy of the BTO's informative quarterly magazine "Bird Table".

The statistics compiled help organisations such as the RSPB, wildlife trusts, and Government bodies to direct resources where they are needed.
