SCOTT Barrow is determined to win his place back in the Worcester Rugby Club side by starring for the Warriors.

Worcester's second string side face Rugby Lions on Wednesday and then, on December 17, tackle Leicester and for Barrow, the two games are vital for him.

The 21-year-old centre begins his loan spell with National Two side Orrell today when he plays in the home clash against Esher.

However, for Barrow, he is intent on winning over Sixways coach John Brain within the next two weeks.

"I'm determined to get back in the side," he said. "Those two matches are important ones for me and I hope to be back in the Worcester squad after the Warriors matches.

"I am not looking at anything else than playing rugby and getting fully fit again.

"Orrell have been very good and have given me a chance and if I can play well for them, we will both be happy."

Barrow has endured a miserable season so far, either finding himself injured or out of favour with coach Brain.

"It's been difficult this season," he admitted. "After the pre-season game at Sale I picked up a foot injury which kept me out for six weeks and then on top of that, I had a shoulder problem once I was fit again.

I just want to play some rugby and Orrell and the Warriors matches give me a chance to do that.

"I am not looking to leave Worcester.

"I am just looking to get back into contention for the first team and the only way I can do that is to play well and make it difficult for the coach.

"John has told me I have to work on two areas of my game, ball in contact and my off-loads so that is what I will be looking to improve on."
