What might be described in ornithological circles as more than an ordinary hen is owned by Mr Thos H Pullen, signalman, Great Western Railway Station, Malvern Wells. He informs me that the bird started to lay on February 11th this year and on the 22nd of November she had laid the 253rd egg. Malvern Gazette, December 6, 1901.

Advice to councillors to ignore any anonymous letters they might receive was given at Tuesday's meeting of Malvern Hills District Council by Mr G T Baldwin, Chairman of the Housing Committee. He had received such a letter only two or three days ago, and it had gone straight into the wastepaper basket. Speaking with scorn of those who were afraid to sign their names and addresses, Mr Baldwin said that signed complaints would be investigated. Malvern Gazette, December 7, 1951.

A Sergeant serving in the King's Shropshire Light Industry in Korea, whose wife lives in Dymock, has sent me a cutting from the Japan News describing a desperate attack on the Regiment by Chinese shock troops who were led by "a woman in black". Ledbury Reporter, December, 1951.

The village of Colwall seems to be the wettest and muddiest in the county. The last three meetings of the parish council have been inundated with complaints about leaves, mud, water and inadequate drainage on the roads. Malvern Gazette, December 9, 1976.

A householder who complained of smells from Ledbury Sewage Works had her rating assessment reduced by a valuation court at Ledbury on Tuesday. Mrs Judith Henshaw told the panel that an unpleasant smell wafted over her property and a lot of flies came into her house.
