A WELL deserved win for Upton's Seconds with Bromyard simply unable to cope with the host team which demonstrated ability and flair in all areas.

UPTON 2ND XV 27pts, BROMYARD 2ND XV 0

With team captain and scrum half Dai Hodges elevated to first team status, this emerging side was led by hooker Mark Symington.

From the off, Bromyard were stretched in all areas, with Upton unlucky not to score within the first 30 minutes. However, superior fitness and better organisation gave Upton the edge as they begin to break down a weakening Bromyard side.

Strong forward play enabled Upton's backs to stretch the ball wide with winger, Tim Taylor excelling in his first season.

The Upton forwards worked hard with superb support play from back row forwards, Rob Wynn and Adam Heath with Symington always on hand for the second and third phase play. For the back line, Tim Badger returned at scrum half after injury worries and work commitments, giving an added dimension to the back line options.

Towards the end of the first half, the tries began to come. First to Paul Jauncey breaking through to score a superb try, then came forward Rob Wynn crashing over the line. Jauncey scored again with Tim Badger rounding off the try tally.

Credit to Dave Hill at full back with a superb kicking display with two conversions and a converted penalty leaving the final score at 27-0.
