WORCESTER City manager John Barton has boosted his striking options by capturing Kidderminster Harriers' Stewart Hadley on a month's loan.

The move was due to be completed today and the striker will make his debut in tomorrow's Dr Martens Premier Division clash with Newport County along with new signings Leon Jackson and Mark Blount.

Jackson signed from Bilston Town in mid-week and Blount is on loan from Burton Albion.

Hadley has been out of favour with Harriers' boss Jan Molby and has not started a game since the Roch-dale match on September 8.

For Barton it is the second time he has worked with 27-year-old Hadley after a previous loan spell at Nun-eaton where he was manager.

"I had Stewart on loan at Nun-eaton Borough when he was a young pro at Derby County, but he's obviously a more experienced player now," he said.

"He's short of games and we're aware of that but we are also short of players and he'll start tomorrow along with the other two signings."

Barton said the capture of the trio was a much-needed boost for the club but added they still needed to perform on the park.

"It's nice to have some different faces and a few more options because we've been wanted to bring in some new players for a while," he said.

"But equally for the arrangements to be successful they have to do their bit on the pitch."

Midfielder Jackson has described his move to St George's Lane as superb and is looking forward to treading in the footsteps of his uncle Joe Jackson who had two spells with the club and has been a guiding light in his career.

"It's a superb move for me and I know that John Barton has been tracking me for about 18 months, but I think Bilston were reluctant to let me go," he said.

"Joe's been a major influence on my playing career and although I talked to a few other clubs he said 'that's the club for you'.

"Joe told me it was a big club and so did Dave Benton and Danny Williams but to be honest as soon as I spoke to John I knew straight away I wanted to play for him. He didn't have to sell it to me."

Jackson, who used to play up front with Mark Owen in a boys team, has forged a reputation as a goalscoring midfielder and struck 31 goals in his last two seasons at Bilston.

Injured midfielder Jon Holloway (ankle) and Phil Stant (Achilles) will be given late fitness tests.
