It was a full house at St Katherine's Hall on Monday evening, when a Ledbury audience were treated to Love Fifteen, a Christian-inspired comedy on family life.

The Christian message was not overt, and those with doubts or different persuasions would not have been alienated by this moving, amusing and sensitive production.

This play probably appealed more to teenagers and near teenagers, and there were plenty of youngsters present.

There was also enough diversity to give older people and parents space for thought, including some huge family rows.

After the interval, audience members were invited on stage to show how they would have resolved certain issues, had they been the parents of the teenagers.

Scenarios included getting a young daughter to remove sick from the floor of the family car and offspring confronted with accusations of shoplifting and lying.

Riding Lights were invited in by Baptist minister Simon Minshull, and he was delighted with the reception.

Among the cast, perhaps Tim Doolan as "Mr Robert", the father, deserves special praise. Though clearly still young himself, he succeeded in portraying the full range of middle-aged angst and uncertainty, in the face of bad behaviour. But the whole cast worked well, often doubling up on parts, to give an insight into how good a travelling professional company can be.
