Chipping Campden U-14 1,

Norton Rgrs 6

TWO goals from Luke Underhill and James Muddiman helped Rangers take control of Sunday's Mercian Elgar League fixture to remain top of the table.

Player of the match Muddiman had a hand in all Norton's goals before leaving the field injured like teammate Scott Williams. Muddiman opened the scoring with a shot into the top corner but Campden soon levelled.

Williams made it 2-1, Underhill scored his first before Ashley Knight picked out Underhill to make it 4-1 at the break.

Norton found it harder on the heavy pitch after the break but never looked like conceding. An own goal followed a Dale Attwood free-kick before the returning Muddiman ended the scoring with a solo effort from halfway.

Evesham Utd U-9 4,

Drakes Broughton 0

LEAGUE leaders United started well in difficult conditions and Micheal Savage turned his marker to open the scoring.

The hosts doubled their lead through Olly Scarrot before Dave Thompson's sole strike made it 3-0 at half-time.

The visitors hit back after the break and only some good goalkeeping and solid defending from Jordan Willis and Cieran Gilbert ensured Evesham kept a clean sheet.

Olly Davis scored United's fourth to wrap up the points.

Peopleton U-14 7, Malvern 1

AFTER being under the cosh for the opening 20 minutes, the home side took a surprise lead when Andy Lamb took advantage of a defensive error.

This proved the spur Peopleton needed and, moments later, Nick Henry doubled the lead from the penalty spot.

A fine solo effort from Lea Miller made it 3-0 at half-time and then home side's calmness in front of goal paid dividends in the second period when Nat Bulmer's two passes led to Miller and Scott Hughes finding the net.

Malvern struck a consolation before Lamb completed the scoring.

Elmley Castle U-12 3,

Avon Athletic 2

CHRIS Ridings grabbed a late winner after Elmley had trailed 2-0 at the interval.

Jason Goode and Joe Harris scored for Avon to give Castle a second half mountain to climb.

Ridings cut the deficit before player of the match Gaz Kinnersley levelled to leave Ridings just enough time to bang in the clincher.

Drakes Broughton 6, Badsey 4

A WET and heavy pitch made for a slow and tiring game but Drakes were quick to score not one but three goals.

Badsey made a valiant comeback but in the end they were unable to hold the home team back.

The goals were shared between Owen Johnston and Callum Tidy.

Pershore Tn 1, Vale Yth 8

FROM the first minute of the game when Robbie Wilhoite received a through ball from Steve Aston to score Vale dominated the forward play.

The scorer then added a further three goals to just one in reply from Pershore's Jack Simons.

The second period saw Vale continue to control the game with solid performances throughout the team.

Further goals came at regular intervals from Oliver Steele, Oliver Clarke, Harry Coughlin and Mark Bellamy.

Vale Wdrs 5, Inkberrow 1

VALE finally took the lead that their pressure deserved with a penalty that was superbly put away by Andrew Cook.

The hosts then went on to hit four further goals with two each for Tom McLaughlin and Arron Hartwell as well as hitting the woodwork four times.

Inkberrow scored a consolation goal in the last minute.

Peopleton Tigers U-11 1,

Littleton Colts 1

LITTLETON started the brighter and it came as no surprise when they took the lead after 15 minutes.

Lloyd Smith won the ball in midfield and advanced to the edge of the area from where he struck a superb shot into the net.

Littleton should have had the game sewn before half-time but the Peopleton goalkeeper produced a brilliant penalty save.

Phil Jones was outstanding in the home defence but he could do little to prevent Peopleton firing in a late leveller from the penalty spot.

Arley Kings 1,

Evesham United U-15 2

AN on song United side trounced their top of the table hosts in a hard fought display of good football.

After a hesitant start in the first half, United were unable to find a way through before the break.

However, they came out after the break with more determination and broke down the left wing with a well-worked move that ended with Shaun Stanley's chip making it 1-0.

A minute later Mark Varndell equalised and, with the game moving up a gear, Evesham's strong defence, led by Jason Jones, created a platform for the away side to gain continuous possession for 15 minutes.

The pressure resulted in a breakaway by Luke Kennedy who lobbed the ball over the keeper's head for the winner and snatch three points from the previously unbeaten leaders.

Badsey Rgrs U-12 10,

Cheltenham YMCA Pumas 0

RANGERS continued their good form with an emphatic victory.

They controlled the game from the start and found the net at frequent intervals.

Jamie Clarke opened the floodgates after four minutes and it was soon 2-0 when Joe Smith struck. Ben Holland made it 3-0 after ten minutes and two more for Clarke completed his hat-trick and made it a nap hand at half-time.

It was a similar story after the break when Smith added four more to his tally, two either side of a second Holland strike.

Smith's five-goal show earned him the player of the match award.
