Kidderminster 0,

Badsey Ladies 3

BADSEY continued their impressive run of form as they reached the halfway stage of this season's league programme.

They took control of the game right from the start and spent a frustrating first half looking for a way to penetrate a resolute Kidderminster defence - all to no avail.

A half-time pep talk from coach Jim Goldstraw worked wonders and Badsey began the second half with renewed vigour.

The breakthrough came when Lynn Townson picked up the ball outside the circle, went past two defenders and beat the keeper with a blistering shot.

They extended their lead when Karen Hall pushed the ball into the net following a short corner.

Player of the match Wendy Hardy then scored the third, pushing the ball past the keeper from Jane Rickey's short corner.

This was an excellent win for Badsey, and another good team performance to give them confidence for the second half of the season.

Badsey entertain Bromsgrove II at Trinity High School, Redditch at 1pm on Saturday.

Evesham Ladies 1, Stourport 3

FAILURE to take their chances cost Evesham victory despite a good performance.

The hosts started the match confidently, stringing a series of good moves together as they dominated the opening 20 minutes.

Stourport, though, gradually came into the game and scored first from a well-worked short corner.

Evesham continued to play well but they fell further behind when caught out after a goalmouth scramble at another set-piece.

Chances again came the home side's way after the break but again a goal wasn't forthcoming and they paid the price for their frugality in front of goal when Stourport added a third.

Player of the match Danni Cox and the Miller sisters battled gamely until the end and it was Bernie Miller who fired in Evesham's late cons-olation.
