A 24-year-old woman was punched in the face after four men demanded she hand over her mobile phone.
It happened at about 2.45am on Saturday in the alleyway which runs alongside Batchley First School to the children's play area.
The man who punched the woman was described as white, about 5ft 6ins tall, of stocky build, with short hair. He was wearing jeans and a dark jacket.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information can call Redditch police on 584888.
