GAS boxes on a Redditch industrial site have been buried underground after vandals set fire to one outside a factory causing thousands of pounds of damage.
Fire crews spent several hours battling against a 30ft wall of gas-fuelled flame outside SG Springs Ltd in Park Farm on November 18.
It was feared the arson could have lead to a spate of copycat attacks and fire chiefs warned of the potentially fatal consequences of messing with gas and fire.
But last week gas firm Transco put all the gas-boxes on the industrial site underground after concern from other factories in the area.
