A RIP-roaring romp is on the bill at the Palace Theatre this month with Redditch Operatic Society's Broadway version of The Pirates of Penzance.

The society's autumn production, with a budget of more than £12,000, runs at the theatre from Tuesday, November 20, until Saturday, November 24.

The show features buccaneers and bobbies trying their best to avoid each other while tackling some of the most well-known pieces by Gilbert and Sullivan such as A Policeman's Lot and The Major General's Song.

Tickets cost £7 or £8 from the box office on 65203 or the Tourist Information Centre, Alcester Street.
