A committee member at the Stourport police club stole cash from a gaming machine there, he admitted in court at Kidderminster.
Anthony Hutton, 38, of Burlish Crossing, Stourport, was bailed for a pre-sentence report.
He had a gambling problem and had sought help from Gamblers Anonymous, said his solicitor, Brian O'Connell.
It had not been possible to establish how much cash he had stolen.
