Pershore II 1, Market Drayton 1

LEAGUE leaders, Market Drayton, began spiritedly eno-ugh and had Pershore very on the back foot in the early stages.

However, the defence ably marshalled by man of the match, Taylor in the unusual role of sweeper, held out and with Hughes using his pace and persistence up front, Pershore could easily have scored three goals before half-time. Attwood missing the best chances to score.

Pershore continued to press forward after the interval, but it was the visitors who had the first chance when Passmore conceded a penalty. Longhi, however, made a magnificent save.

Joy soon turned to despair as another mistake allowed Market Drayton to take the lead.

As is to be expected from a side showing great spirit, Pershore poured back on to the attack and took advantage of the rolling substitute rule with Emsley and Jones being repl-aced by the more experienced Rushin.

They attacked non-stop with Massingham running the midfield. How-ever, it wasn't until late in the game that Pershore equalised with Pryce flicking the ball into the bottom corner.

Taylor then spoiled an otherwise faultless display when failing to find the net from two feet leaving the feeling that again Pershore had dominated a match, yet fai-led to get the result their endeavours warranted.
