MALVERN Town manager Joe Rawle and assistant manager Richard Anson are asking the club to consider its future in the West Midlands League.

The move follows last week's controversial 1-0 defeat at Kington, when Town had three players sent off in the last 15 minutes.

After the match Mr Anson asked to speak to the referee Mr A R Khalfey, but says he was kept waiting for 20 minutes outside the referee's room only to be told Mr Khalfey had already made his views known to another member of the management team.

Mr Anson believes that for some reason Malvern Town are perceived as troublemakers and have been on the wrong end of a series of referee's decision all season.

He claims there has been a decline in refereeing standards in the West Midlands Regional League dating back to the league losing it's contributory status for referees a couple of years ago.

He says all players and officials of Malvern Town Football Club are totally aware of their responsibilities in terms of on pitch and off pitch behaviour and all players have a set of rules which summarise these standards and are strictly adhered to.

At no time are Town players encouraged to dispute decisions, engage in foul play of any kind or undertake any action which could bring the club into disrepute. Players who do overstep the mark in this respect are dealt with.

"Before anyone accuses us of sour grapes we should remind people that the last three personal hearings we have attended with the Worcestershire Football Assoc-iation have resulted in an 84-day suspension being reduced to 21 days, a claim of 'racist abuse' being thrown out and out another sending off being completely overturned," said Mr Anson.

"But we do not have the inclination or time or money to continually fight the decisions we appear to suffer, there has to be a limit as we all have more important things in our lives to get on with."
