IS there a place for God in today's society?

A previous correspondent indicated that religion was responsible for most conflicts in the world.

But if a fanatic is so determined to cause death and suffering, even to forfeit his own life, is he entitled to be classed a religious man? Clearly not.

The current events in Afghanistan illustrate mankind's wishes to eradicate these fanatics. But at what a cost to innocent human life.

During the last century the lifestyle of Ghandi, Martin Luther King and Mother Teresa provided an alternative view point.

An eye for an eye or forgiveness?

In the year 2001 AD mankind is still undecided.
