Alvechurch 2 Feckenham 4

Clive Campion's double assault on the league and Challenge Vase gained momentum with an impressive derby win in the knockout competition.

Not surprisingly Brian Powell was the hero with another two goals to take his tally to 16 in 12 starts for the Millers.

It was an ex-Studley link up for the opener on 20 minutes when Powell headed in at the near post from a corner by ex BKL skipper Mark Davis.

Steve Bayliss made it two on 35 minutes, scoring at the second attempt after a Powell cross.

The hosts hit the woodwork three times after the break but failed to score until the 60th minute when Gary Hay pulled one back.

From the restart Feckenham restored their two goal advantage through an own goal after a dangerous Darren Tarver centre.

Powell claimed his second ten minutes from time after a through ball from Clive Campion who had come off the bench.

And a late Gary Hay penalty after a foul from Millers keeper Dave Inman came too late for the hosts.

Midland Combination Premier top two Romsley and Grosvenor Park have already gone out leaving Feckenham, Coventry Sphinx and West Midlands Police the only top seven sides still in.

But Feckenham have selection problems for Saturday's league trip to bogey side Bolehall Swifts.

Midfielder Matt Hudson and defender Ian Edwards are out after picking up hamstring strains against Alvechurch.

Midfielders Justin Dankenbring (ankle injury), Chris White (work commitments) and James Harper (unavailable) are out along with toe injury victim Andy Underwood.
