ARP/O50: The last meeting was very well attended when the speaker was Mr John Massingham who spoke about his life in the Diplomatic Service. After his talk he was thanked by the chairman who then informed members that the Association had recently received £75 from Wychavon District Council towards the cost of replacing the microphone. Names were taken for future events and Christmas dinners. The recent visit to the horse racing was very successful, so another date was arranged to repeat this event.

ARTHRITIS AND RHEUMATISM COUNCIL: Pershore branch, are having their AGM on October 30, which is being held at St Wulstan Hall, Priest Lane, Pershore. The AGM will begin at 7.30pm, Helen Fowler, press secretary, invites both members and non members along.

TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS TEA AND CONCERT: Is being held at the Pershore College of Horticulture on November 18. Betty Hughes has arranged the concert and Christmas tea with the proceeds going to Perscoran Brass, St John's Ambulance Cadets, Pershore Troop Army Cadet Force and 233 (Pershore) Squadron Air Training Corps. Tickets are £10 for the afternoon and tea or £5.50 for the evening concert only. During the event Pershore Perscoran Brass and others, will be entertaining everyone. MULTI-CHARITY CHRISTMAS CARD SHOP: Held in Pershore Library, Church Street, Pershore, will be open and selling Christmas cards for Multi-Charity Cards for good Causes. The card shop will be open from October 31 until December 19. Unfortunately they will not be open on Thursdays, as the Library itself will be closed.

FESTIVAL FOR THE OVER 50'S: Is being held at Pershore Civic Centre next Wednesday between 10am and 3pm. You are invited to treat yourself to a free taste of good health, so if you are 50 plus why not go along to a day especially for you and your health, with lots of things for you to try, see and do! Advice is on offer for many different aspects of life for the 50+'s. Special arrangements have also been made where you are welcome to bring along any old medicines for disposal.

DANCE AT 8: New classes and new venues are arranged for November and December. Pershore (Pershore Theatre Arts, 8, High Street, Pershore) will be the venue for Mondays (a new class starts November 12 for 5 weeks) 7.30pm to 8.30pm. New absolute beginners Tango Workshop, 8.30pm to 9.30pm Absolute Beginners Salsa and Merengue. On Fridays (starts November 16 for 5 weeks) with various classes from Video Pop Stars, Latin and Ballroom and Practice Party every Friday, all styles all levels, everyone welcome. This is a new venue (Abbey Park First School) on Tuesdays with Video Pop Stars for adults and Latin Line Dancing from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. NUMBER 8 GALLERY: Exhibition of paintings by Sian Thomas, entitled 'Reminiscence', runs until November 3.

PUPPETS AT NUMBER 8: 'Spooky Shadows'. A shadow puppetry workshop and performance for ages 8 to 12 years, 10.30am £5 for the day.

FLOWER CLUB: At this month's meeting the demonstrator, Pat Lewis displayed the contemporary style in her designs, with the title 'Where are we going'.
