BOSS Rod Brown admitted Saturday's 3-1 win over league basement boys Swindon Supermarine was no walkover.

But Brown was delighted that Swifts bounced back from last weekend's FA Cup defeat and league loss at Bilston.

They made hard work of Swindon, allowing the visitors back in at the start of the second half.

However, Brown insisted: "It is important to see how the players react after losing a few games.

"Swindon proved to be not a bad side, no-one has turned them over by a huge margin."

It was fitting the goal that calmed Stourport nerves on 63 minutes was a gem from man-of-the-match Cowley.

The former West Bromwich Albion trainee cut inside before unleashing a ferocious drive that gave the keeper no chance.

Swifts looked to be cruising to victory when Southwick opened the scoring on 15 minutes, Booth helping on a Marsh cross.

Top scorer Booth made it 2-0 on 28 minutes, combining with Marsh after latching onto a huge kick from keeper Clarke.

But the visitors refused to accept defeat and striker Dave Toomey's diving header forced Clarke into a fine full-length save.

Steve Bennett reduced the arrears on 51 minutes, heading in a Tom Jones cross, before Michael Silvanus missed a sitter.

It needed Cowley's goal to wrap up the victory and end any hopes of a Swindon revival.
