Bishampton Utd 2, Inkberrow 3

THE home team got off to a great start with their quickest goal for many years.

Mark Insall won the ball from the Inkberrow kick-off and played it through for Andrew Murphy, who chipped it over keeper Myles Day.

As the half progressed both teams played some flowing football on a good surface.

Inkberrow had a fair share of the play but rarely troubled Rob Bille in the home goal.

After 20 minutes Bishampton were unlucky not to go two up. Carlo Longhi played the ball to Murphy, who hit the ball first time from 25 yards only to see it hit a post with Day well beaten.

United's old rivals started the second half brightly and began to gain control of the game as the home team were hindered with two enforced changes.

The equaliser came after 65 minutes when Bille pushed a shot on to the bar and Inkberrow substitute Simon Ledbury reacted quickest to tap in the equaliser.

The visitors took the lead five minutes later when a Ledbury shot was turned on to a post by Bille, but unluckily for him the rebound fell to Oliver Wortley who fired the ball through a ruck of players and into the net.

Further disaster was to follow for the hosts 15 minutes from time when Chris Dixon was adjudged to have been fouled in the area and Ledbury converted the spot-kick.

This caused Bishampton to change tactics and push more men forward and it produced the desired effect when Paul Jeffcoat's shot was spilt by keeper Day and Stuart Hubball was on hand to shoot the ball home.

Bishampton continued to press for an equaliser and Mason almost scored from Nick Turner's cross but the ball went agonisingly past his outstretched leg when well placed.
