DEAR EDITOR - I, and other 'SALT' (Save a lido today) committee members, were disgusted with Cllr Miekle's remarks at a recent Wychavon District Council meeting.

Referring to 'pressure groups' as having negative attitudes towards any new project plans for Droitwich Spa, we were informed we had no right of reply at that meeting.

We would like to inform Cllr Miekle and the Tory councillors that they were elected by the old people, and residents feel that they should see the plans and have their say about the 'lido' proposals before any irreversible decisions are made.

All the Tory councillors opposed the idea of a public meeting but we must thank Cllr Peter Pinfield who supported our view.

He has worked hard and long for years for our Spa town and he does listen to the residents' views.

Once again the Droitwich Spa Tory town councillors appeared to be working under the past whip and did not support the Droitwich residents.

Sheila Neary,

Hanbury Road,

Droitwich Spa.
