A SPECIAL team of officers has been appointed to make sure Bromsgrove residents have "nothing but the best".

The aim of the Bromsgrove District Council four-strong team is to ensure householders, visitors and businesses in the district get the best value from the authority.

The best value team is working to make sure the council provides the best throughout all its services, at all times, according to team head Barbara Haswell.

She said: "The district council aims at nothing but the best for Bromsgrove and has always sought to meet the needs of all its customers.

"The team has been appointed to emphasise the importance we place on our promise to give our very best now and in the future.

"Arrangements are being made to secure continuous improvements."

Targets will be achieved through reviews during the five-year plan covering all departments.

Best value support officer Isaac Tunji and best value support assistants Elena Greaves and Jane Freeman make up the team.

Barbara believes: "Our different skills and backgrounds will ensure all services under review are guaranteed best possible results."

Depot services and Revenues -- council tax and benefits -- have already come under review, and work is under way on housing and leisure services.

Barbara added: "A major part of our process is consultation with the community through questionnaires, focus group meetings and our customer panel.

"We have talked and will continue to talk to residents and businesses in our bid to give people what they want and not waste time and money providing things they do not want."
