A TEENAGE thespian from Droitwich Spa has had a wish come true after securing a place with a touring theatre company.
Ashley Boorman, of Manning Road, has been awarded a place with Scotland-based M and M Productions, which will be taking its show of Aladdin on a ten-week tour.
The 18-year-old, who recently completed a BTEC National Diploma in performing arts, will be travelling to Scotland on Friday to begin rehearsals.
The former Droitwich Spa High School pupil, who has performed at Worcester's Swan Theatre in Guys and Dolls and Cabaret, auditioned for the company in July.
Ashley told the Advertiser/Messenger he auditioned to become a member of the group but they liked him so much they offered him the lead role in Aladdin.
He added: "I am really pleased. I have been performing since I was young and this is something I have always wanted to do."
The company kicks off a week of rehearsals this Friday and will then tour England and Scotland until February 2002.
