Alcester 19 Manor Park 12

MANOR Park and Alcester were at loggerheads in the first half with the teams evening each other out.

Manor Park had the slope in the first half but failed to capitalise on their advantage.

At half-time Alcester were ahead 14-12 through two tries from Martin Sergeant which were converted by Tom Heneghan.

The second half continued as the first left off, Alcester putting Manor Park under pressure from a well-drilled line-out, leading to a crash ball from James Doyle to go over for Alcester's winning try which was duly converted by Heneghan.

Total commitment from both sides meant this encounter with the team at the start of play above Alcester in the league, was both exciting and a joy to watch.

Alcester meet undefeated league leaders Marconi next week.
