A KIDDERMINSTER carpet manufacturer is celebrating after supplying carpets to a new department store.

Victoria Carpets Ltd has supplied the new John Lewis department store, which opened in Solihull earlier this month, with exclusive ranges of high-quality Axminster, Wilton and Tufted carpets.

The £40m store, measuring 250,000sq ft, is the first John Lewis store to be built in the West Midlands for more than 40 years and will "anchor" the new Touchwood shopping centre.

Victoria Carpets has been supplying carpets to the retail giant for more than 25 years.

"The opening of the Solihull department store will add increasing value to our partnership with John Lewis," said Victoria Carpets' sales director John Duncan.

"Both companies are proud to be involved in a project that is greatly prestigious and beneficial for Solihull and the wider West Midlands area. I look forward to seeing our work on display when the store is open to the public."

Victoria Carpets was founded in 1895 in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, and relocated to Kidderminster in 1900.

Customers include EuroDisney and ITT Sheraton, among others.
