AFTER last week's 7-0 thrashing of Oak Apple, the Prems were looking to get another three Worcester Sunday Division Two points on the board.

PLUMBERS ARMS 3, MALVERN PREMIERS 4

But things hit a stumbling block when the Plumbers Arms went 1-0 up when Danny Yu scored with a lob from 20 yards over Prems keeper Steve Newman.

The Prems had few chances in the first half with the best of them falling to Nick Kordas. The last bit of action in the first half was for Plumbers Arms who made it 2-0 before the break from Ben Burfitt.

The second half got off to a better start for the Prems with Adam Benkwitz scoring with a well driven shot across the Arms keeper. But just when the Prems were finding their feet the Plumbers Arms shocked them by scoring a third moments later with Martin Denton netting.

Prems were handed a lifeline when Benkwitz converted a penalty to make it 3-2. The game was finally won when supersub James Abba, who came on for the injured Kordas, scored two great goals, one a header at the back post and the second a calmly taken shot from ten yards to make it 4-3 to the Prems.

After the game Malvern Prems manager Dave Loader said: "It was another good performance from the lads who gave their all, we have a strong squad through and through, we had a full squad of players with our two new signings Neil Oliver and Ray Pearce not even getting shirts."

The Prems are at home this Sunday to Martley Spurs Reserves, players meet at Victoria Park at 9.30am.
