ON behalf of the Forest of Dean Conservatives, I would like to express my condolences and support for the people of the United States after such a terrible attack.
I have tremendous sympathy for those many British victims and their families, many of whom are still waiting for information about their loved ones.
I also have family there, most of whom are in the Massachusetts area. Fortunately, my family was not directly affected.
The terrorist attacks on Tuesday, September 11, were aimed not just at America, but at all democratic civilised nations. We were as much the targets as those in the World Trade Centre.
I too, have absolutely no hesitation in giving the Prime Minister my full support for his immediate pledge to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our strongest friends and allies in the United States.
We must ensure that the perpetrators are hunted down and brought to justice.
MARK HARPER, Forest of Dean Conservative Association.
