WEST Malvern visited Rushwick to be greeted by a disappointingly poor team and wicket.

RUSHWICK CC v WEST MALVERN

The West won the toss and elected to field first but only Marius Van Rensburg bowled accurately, but with little luck. The introduction of young Joe Little found the breakthrough, his father, Stan, taking a good catch at cover point to dismiss Perkins for a belligerent 43.

Richard Dudley then soon had the batsmen in trouble, Williams was smartly stumped by Cooper for a stoic 48, and Nichols was brilliantly caught by Van Rensburg, fielding very close in at silly mid-off, and diving forward to gather the ball.

Colman was then caught at mid-on by Dakin, attempting to hit the ball out of the ground, and Pleass had Wyatt caught by Blackshaw in his only over, before the innings closed at 133-5.

West Malvern made short work of getting the runs taking only 15 overs and two balls to get 137-4. Brian Pleass was majestic hitting 15 fours in his 78, complemented by Mike Williamson who hit 6 fours in his 29no as West Malvern coasted to victory by six wickets.
