PEOPLE in Malvern disturbed by the sound of large aircraft on Monday and Tuesday evening have been assured that it is nothing to do with events in Afghanistan.
Captain Tim Davis, a spokesman for RAF Fairford, said the planes were part of a support mission for an exercise being undertaken on the continent.
This has now been cancelled and the base remains on normal standby.
The sight of huge American B52 bombers above Malvern was last witnessed when they took off from RAF Fairford during operations in Kosovo.
