A BLUES festival could feature among next summer's events.
Fans who feel they are not being catered for by the annual jazz festival, have combined to create their own event.
Organiser Rachel Willoughby said: "Most of the music in the jazz festival is trad jazz and after this summer's event we decided to stop complaining and do something about it.
"We're not trying to compete with the jazz festival, ours will be much more low-key with bands performing in pubs.
"We don't know what the arrangements will be or how it will work but we've had a lot of interest from the pubs we've contacted."
It is thought the event could take place some time between the jazz festival and the water festival.
A fundraising "blues cruise" is on October 5, with local band the Barflys. The boat leaves Severn Leisure at 7.30pm, returning about midnight. Tickets are £7 from Severn Leisure or the Anchor Inn.
