MALVERN RFC are pleased with the new players that have joined forces with the club for this season.

A number of new players have improved the strength of the club throughout.

Director of rugby Dave Robins said: "Our tie-up with University College Worcester has added strength to our squad and seen players like Fraser, Thomas and Martin catch the eye, whilst Ian "Beano" White is a find at scrum half, a position where we currently need cover .

"In addition we have been joined by Scott Lloyd, a second row from Worcester who brings valuable experience to the squad.

"Our playing side has been strengthened so much that our third team has virtually become a development side, and the Seagulls, our highly sociable fourth XV has around 25 players to choose from this week, something unheard of this early in previous seasons."

With sidelined first team stars like Paul Hart, Mark Humphreys and Mark Gaubert all on the mend after long term injuries, things are looking up at a previously beleaguered Spring Lane, although the ever-cautious Robins says "We only take it one game at a time, and our immediate priority is to secure two home points on Saturday".
