The second fundraising event for the flower festival was a sponsored walk organised by Peggy Remmer. This took place on Sunday, September 2. Gordon Moss arranged the route which was approved by the local farmers and landowners. Covering five miles the walk started at Forthampton Clubroom at 10am. Coffee and biscuits were ready for the walkers when they had finished. Although only seven walkers took part the sponsorship they had collected did credit to their effort when a grand total of £376.50 was raised. Many thanks to both the walkers and sponsors.

The next event for the flower festival will be a coffee morning on Saturday, September 29 at the Vicarage, Apperley, at 10am.

The Women's Section of Forthampton & District Royal British Legion held a table top sale in Bushley Village Hall on Bank Holiday Monday, August 27. There were a number of stalls, plenty to buy but sadly not many people to buy things. It raised £122.30.
