WORCESTER'S MP showed he had green fingers when he completed a gardening task at a homeless centre.
Mike Foster yesterday spent a couple of hours at Maggs Day Centre, in Deansway, digging up the weeds and planting daffodil bulbs.
The work was promised at a charity "man auction" earlier this year, when the Worcestershire Hunt Supporters Club paid £200 for Mr Foster's services.
The hunt had wanted him to garden at the Fernhill Heath kennels, but Mr Foster declined and instead turned his hand to a charity within his constituency.
"It was a gorgeous day to do it. We raised money for a charitable trip and it was the day after the Scottish Parliament had voted to ban hunting. One could say it was perfect timing," said the MP.
"We have to wait until the spring now to see how we did."
The auction raised £500 for a trek in aid of the Arthritis Research Campaign.
