FUMING boss Jan Molby has pulled no punches as Kidderminster Harriers prepare for a clash of the strugglers on Saturday.

Harriers take a miserable run of four away defeats to Hartlepool United on the back of a 4-0 thrashing at Shrewsbury.

Molby slammed his men's display on Tuesday but admitted he had to take his share of the blame.

He conceded Harriers had to worry about a Division Three relegation fight if displays did not improve.

Molby moaned: "If you look at the Shrewsbury match as an isolated game, it's going to be forever and a day before we get a point away from home.

"I would like to say we can be better than that but I'm starting to doubt whether we can be much better over the season.

"Relegation has to creep into the back of minds. We've only played eight games but it has to be there. It's going to be a long season."

While "disgusted" at the performance and lack of mental strength, Molby was dismayed with the way his team relied on youngster Ben Davies.

He said: "We allowed Ben to lead from the front which was absolutely pathetic. He was our leader but hasn't even played 10 league games. For the rest to accept that tells me a lot about their characters.

"Maybe I made a mistake about being positive after Saturday's game with Plymouth.

"One or two players thought they were better than they really are. Some of the performances were horrendous. There were two individual errors in the first half that I could not do a lot about.

"You don't expect anyone to be playing brilliantly because players are at this level for a reason. But if they cannot do the basics, then maybe they should look for another job.

"I'm not going to apologise for the players, they can do that if they're man enough. But I can apologise to the fans and I'm as much to blame as anybody else."

Harriers check on the fitness of Dean Bennett (thigh) and defenders Craig Hinton (groin) and Mark Shail today.

Striker Colin Larkin, on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, is also battling to get over a dead leg.

Harriers entertain Oxford next Tuesday (7.45pm).
