IF variety is the spice of life then Stratford over 60s have a rare treat in store next week when they are invited to a free concert in the civic hall.
Organised by town councillor Maureen Beckett the event will include a range of acts, including dancers from the Mezzoforte Dance Company, sketches from the Bird of Prey Theatre and lots of music. The concert, which is also open to disabled people, is planned for next Wednesday, and Thursday, at 7.30pm.
Coun Beckett said the events which relied on volunteer performers and help, were intended to provide entertainment for people who were not normally able to get out in the evening.
"I had one lady last year tell me that she had never seen Stratford at night," she added.
Anyone who wants to attend either of the concerts can turn up at the civic hall on the night.
If they need transport, they can contact the town council on 01789 269332 during office hours or coun Beckett on 01789 299347 in the evening.
