PERSHORE'S dismal end of season form continued when they travelled to Droitwich on Saturday and suffered their fourth defeat in the last five games enabling the home side to leapfrog them in the final league table.
The visitors were asked to bat on a damp green wicket and only Phil Oxley (49) and John Brookes showed the necessary application in a total of 129.
Despite losing a wicket in the first over, Droitwich were never troubled and a stand of 69 between South African Wes Euley and Nigel Haddock saw them home in 28.3 overs.
Pershore's second string also ended on a losing note despite a fighting last wicket stand between Ben and Tom Bales.
The brothers added 44 runs to guide Pershore to 119 and a win looked on as Droitwich slumped to 12-3 as Luke Eversham starred with the ball.
Experienced opener Brian Gunston dug in but, at 63-6, Pershore will still favourites. However, Gunston battled his way to an unbeaten 54 as the ten-man visitors won with their penultimate pair at the crease.
