ON the last day of the season Badsey's juniors finished on a high note defeating Studley by 22 runs.
After being put into bat Badsey steadily built their innings to a respectable 66-6 off 20 overs. Christian Pea-rse, with an unbeaten 12, was top score on a lively wet wicket.
In reply Studley were never up with the run rate. Eight-year-old Dan Humpston, bowling his first overs in a competitive game, was the bowling star taking 3-11.
Elder brother Marcus also chipped in with two wickets as Studley eventually finished on 44-9.
This was another good victory for the club's under 12s side against an older and more experienced Studley side.
Later in the day, under-12 players Michael Powell and Marcus Humpston helped Badsey's senior side to victory over Cheltenham Civil Service.
The stars of the senior display were Wayne Pearse (60) and skipper Dave Powell (51) who guided their side to a comfortable nine- wicket victory.
Despite the club's relegation to Division Two of the Cotswold Hills League, the signs look positive for the future of Badsey CC.
