A PUPPETRY project based in Far Forest has scooped a £36,000 cash handout through the Regional Arts Lottery programme.
Puppetlink Ltd, a consortium of five puppetry companies, will receive the cash over two years towards four projects which bring children, puppetry and education together.
Glyn Edwards, a director of Punchinello's Puppets and spokesman for the group, said the projects would work with children aged up to eight years.
They would include puppetry workshops in schools and the manufacture of puppets for children to use in their own shows.
In addition, the group would be putting on a performance using live musical accompaniment which would tour schools and libraries and a new puppet show for pre-school age children which would explore colour and shape, Mr Edwards added.
