A LAST-MINUTE Paul Hyde goal was enough to give Bewdley Town three West Midlands Division One South points at home to Mahal.

Both sides struggled against well-organised defences in an even first half.

Bewdley lost Gary Middleton with a leg injury after just 15 minutes but replacement John Lawley slotted in well.

With fellow defenders Chris Hough, Duncan Taylor and Dave Harris, Lawley thwarted a menacing Mahal attack.

With the wind behind them, Bewdley dominated the first 30 minutes of the second half but only had one chance of any significance.

Grant Gibbs ran clear but his lob was off target.

Mahal played some of the best football of the match but Bewdley finished the stronger side.

Their last-gasp winner came when Ben McCloughlan got to the bye-line after good work from Gavin Smith and Paul Field.

His pull-back was finished in style by Hyde.

In injury-time, McCloughlan's 20-yard effort struck the crossbar.
