STAFF at the Shuttle/Times and News did not quite walk the 2,500 miles covered by Wyre Forest's binmen each year when they embarked on a litterpick.
But they spent a couple of hours removing litter of all description from the canal towpath alongside Kidderminster's Sainsbury's store last Thursday.
They were doing their bit for the Grime's A Crime campaign, run by Wyre Forest District Council and supported by the Shuttle/Times & News.
The newspaper team braved the elements to collect eight bags full of litter that had been blighting the canal towpath and surrounding areas.
Paint and oil cans, items of clothing and even wallpaper were all picked up, while a set of discarded school books was among the more unusual finds.
An armchair dumped alongside the canal proved too great a challenge for the team but it was reported to the council and workmen removed it this week.
