Chelmsley Tn Res 1, Littleton 1
LITTLETON continued their unbeaten start to the season with their third draw in seven starts.
The conditions were against good football - a very uneven and hard surface together with a strong gusting wind made ball control very difficult.
Both sides tried to play football but most of the moves broke down before they reached the danger area, and although it was disappointing to have to settle for a point, it was one of those games where damage limitation was the order of the day.
The first effort of note was from Chelmsley who were awarded a free kick just outside the area. Littleton's wall did its job as the ball flew wide.
Then Matthew Edwards for broke down the left but his cross just evaded onrushing Littleton colleagues.
As the half progressed Littleton began to get the upper hand without creating any meaningful chances.
Chelmsley took the lead after 61 minutes when, following a scramble in Littleton's goalmouth, Adam Jenkins headed in from inside the six-yard box.
Littleton were spurred on by this reverse and attacked with more urgency and equalised four minutes later when Des Cox converted a penalty, after he had been hacked down from behind.
Littleton almost snatched victory in the last minute as the ball flashed across the Chelmsley six-yard box but no-one was on hand to convert.
